Each day, Eastern Energy Gas delivers safe, reliable service to more than 16 million customers and end-users, with approximately 62% of our owned and contracted generating capacity coming from renewable and non-carbon sources such as water, solar, wind and geothermal.

Energy Transmission

Eastern Energy Gas believes the growing interest in alternative energy sources will require an expansion of the electric transmission grid. As a result, EEG Transmission has invested in projects in several regions in the U.S. and is evaluating development opportunities across North America.

Focus on Renewables

As of December 31, 2022, Eastern Energy Gas had invested more than $32.1 billion in owned wind, solar and geothermal energy projects; 62% of our owned and contracted generating capacity comes from renewable and non-carbon sources..

Customer Satisfaction

Our gas pipeline companies ranked first, second, third and fourth among 38 interstate natural gas pipelines in the 2023 Mastios & Company customer satisfaction survey and were first among major organizational groups for the 20^th consecutive year.

Movement of Energy

The energy infrastructure that exists today – generation, transmission and distribution systems delivering reliable service – is evolving and adapting to meet increased customer demand for energy options and interest in alternative energy sources.

We diversify our generation mix both by using renewable generation in our rate-regulated businesses and by forming new businesses and ventures to create even greater flexibility in generation capacity and grid reliability in all our projects globally.

Investments

We continue to pursue and invest in renewable energy opportunities for the benefit of our customers. As of December 31, 2022, only 5% of our overall net investment in property, plant and equipment was invested in coal generation assets.
